We provide ground and air inspection services. Utilising a UAV, also known as drones to get up close safely and economically.
Our UAV fleet allows access to difficult and dangerous places without the need to put people in harm's way. Achieved using highly capable and reliable UAV technology, the on-board cameras provide high definition output via optical zoom. Delivering crisp and high resolution photos that show degradation or faults that could only otherwise be seen by placing a person near the asset which can be dangerous, expensive or just time-consuming.

Surveying inspection services we provide:
On-site assessment - the asset owner or engineer can view the asset condition in real time on the pilot’s screen or portable monitor
High resolution images are saved to the SD card
Asset modelling - if 2D or 3D CAD or model is required the drone inspection can be performed in a way to allow photogrammetric modelling
Reality modelling - going a step further than the modelling, a highly realistic digital twin can be generated and viewed and analysed on any number of desktops

Recon was approached by surveying and engineering professionals Aurecon in early 2022 to provide LiDAR aerial mapping services for NZ Windfarms Limited’s Te Rere Hau wind farm repowering project located on the Tararua Ranges.
